378 streetlights in Ann Arbor being converted to energy-saving LEDs
Ann Arbor and DTE Energy are taking steps to convert another 378 streetlights to energy-saving LEDs. The City Council voted 9-0 this week to approve $65,354 for the city's share of the cost to convert some more of the mercury vapor streetlights in the city that are owned and maintained by DTE. City officials say the investment should pay for itself in about a year and a half, as the city will reap the financial benefits associated with lower energy consumption from more efficient lights.
