Minka Lighting Recalls Vortic Flow Series Fixtures Due to Impact Injury Hazard

Minka Lighting LLC, based in Corona, California, has issued a recall for approximately 2,350 Vortic Flow Series light fixtures due to a potential impact injury hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that the component connecting the light fixture to the ceiling mount can weaken over time, posing a risk of the fixture detaching and falling unexpectedly.

Affected Models:

The recall encompasses all Minka Vortic Flow light fixtures made of steel with a dark bronze and mosaic gold finish, specifically:
    •    Model 3679: 10-light pendant, measuring 30 by 21 inches and weighing 25.7 pounds.
    •    Model 4677: 8-light pendant, measuring 11 by 30 inches and weighing 16 pounds.
    •    Model 4679: 18-light chandelier, measuring 37.5 by 27 inches and weighing 28.6 pounds.

The model number and “Minka-Lavery” branding can be found on the fixture’s packaging or purchase records.

To date, Minka Lighting has received two reports of the light fixtures partially detaching from the ceiling. No injuries or complete detachments have been reported.
