LED Displays for Sports Venues: LEDMAN Projects in Malaysia and Australia

Sports venues require LED display solutions that can deliver consistent brightness, image quality and reliability under demanding environmental conditions. Outdoor stadiums may face intense sunlight, heavy rainfall and high humidity, while indoor swimming pools can expose electronic equipment to moisture and chlorine.

Recently, LEDMAN delivered two sports venue LED display projects in Southeast Asia and Australia: Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Malaysia and an indoor swimming pool in Australia. The two projects demonstrate how LEDMAN adapts its LED display technology to different environmental requirements, with the N Series outdoor fixed LED display and Z Series high-brightness LED display providing reliable visual performance in challenging conditions.

Located in Johor, Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim Stadium is the home stadium of Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and accommodates nearly 40,000 spectators.

The stadium is located in a tropical region near the equator, where high temperatures, high humidity, intense sunlight and heavy rainfall can present significant challenges for outdoor LED displays. For sports venues operating throughout the year, an outdoor LED screen needs to maintain stable performance under changing weather conditions.

LEDMAN installed its N Series outdoor fixed LED display at the stadium to provide high-quality visual content for match-day applications.

With peak brightness of up to 6,500 nits, the N Series provides clear and visible images under strong outdoor sunlight. This makes it suitable for displaying live scores, match information, replays, sponsor advertisements and other sports content.

For stadium LED displays, brightness is particularly important because direct sunlight can significantly affect image visibility. High-brightness LED technology helps ensure that important information remains clearly visible to spectators from different viewing areas.

The N Series features an IP65 protection rating, providing protection against dust and water ingress. Combined with moisture- and salt-mist-resistant treatment, the display is designed to operate reliably in hot and humid outdoor environments.

The modular structure also supports efficient installation and maintenance. Individual components can be serviced more conveniently, helping stadium operators reduce maintenance complexity and minimize potential downtime.
