The city of Aurora streetlights should be energy-efficient LED lights by the end of the year.
Aldermen on the City Council Finance Committee recommended a service provider for the ComEd Streetlights in Distressed Communities Program, which would seek to swap out all remaining street lamps to LED lamps.
The swap-out can even take place in the city’s historic districts and downtown, where the city has special poles and fixtures.
